THE CHALLENGE

Sandford began working with Foresso, a distinctive material made from waste wood and bio-resin, which had already developed a strong product story and growing reputation within sustainable design. However, while the material itself was gaining traction, brand awareness remained relatively limited across the wider architecture and design community.

During our work together, Foresso became part of a new umbrella brand, Low Carbon Industrial (LCI), bringing together innovative low-carbon materials under a single platform. This transition created both an opportunity and a challenge: to retain recognition for Foresso while introducing the wider LCI brand and its broader sustainability mission.

Sandford was tasked with building awareness for both the material and the new brand, positioning LCI within the design, architecture and sustainability conversation.

OUR SOLUTION

To establish LCI as a credible voice in sustainable materials while maintaining recognition for Foresso, we developed an integrated communications strategy combining PR, digital content and industry engagement.

We created a targeted PR strategy focused on design, architecture and sustainability publications, introducing both the Foresso material and the LCI brand to the press and highlighting the innovation and environmental ambition behind the company.

As part of London Design Festival, we supported the brand's participation in Material Matters, providing clear messaging, media outreach and social media activity to maximise visibility among architects, designers and journalists.

Alongside PR activity, we developed social media content that communicated the story behind the materials, their environmental benefits and their creative potential, balancing technical credibility with visually engaging storytelling.

THE RESULTS

The campaign successfully strengthened awareness for both Foresso and the wider LCI brand within the architecture and design community.

Through targeted PR outreach, digital storytelling and strategic event participation, the brand gained increased visibility among key design media, architects and specifiers.

Activity around London Design Festival and Material Matters helped introduce the brand to influential industry audiences, while ongoing social media content supported the wider narrative around sustainable materials and innovation.

Together, these efforts helped establish LCI as an emerging voice in low-carbon materials for the built environment, while continuing to build recognition for its flagship material, Foresso.

Working with Sandford was an enjoyable and educational experience. The team were highly responsive and easy to work with, bringing real knowledge and expertise to our communications. They took the time to understand our needs and helped us navigate the process of building awareness for both Foresso and the wider LCI brand.
